Making Pasta
The NDOT Reno/Sparks Spaghetti Bowl Project is one step closer to reality, with the draft Environmental Impact Statement having gone live on the Project’s website. The preferred alternative appears to be Design Alternative 2, which reduces certain on/off ramp locations, and avoids taking property from the Sparks Nugget and from the Reno/Sparks Indian Colony. I would encourage everyone to check out the differences between Alternatives 1 and 2. Alternative 1 appears to do a better job of “fixing” the Spaghetti Bowl itself, but does not do much to fix the approach to the Bowl, and the impacts on residence and commercial property appears to be very significant – over 900 properties vs. about 250.
I am very curious to see how this project moves forward in the next year or so.
